One great thing about Brisbane is that the Brisbane City Council encourages artists to paint the ugly grey Traffic Signal Boxes – so you get some great splashes of colour on the roadside.

I got to Southbank for the Australia Day celebrations at about 3 pm, and managed to get photos of sheep-pups, Bollywood Dancing, children in Welsh costume, singers, crowds, fireworks and more.

Friday January 26th is Australia Day, the 219th anniversary of the day that European settlers landed at Sydney Cove.
It’s a public holiday all around Australia, and there will be a lot of activities at Southbank. I’ll be there taking photos for a big report that I will publish on Monday (it will take me all weekend to get it just right).
