Some exciting news broke last Friday evening - the Australian Blogging Conference will be held at the State Library of Queensland on Thursday March 8th. The tentative program and conference philosophy is here.

UPDATE: the conference has been postponed to August.

Peter Black, who is organising the conference, says:

If there is sufficient interest, we would still like to hold a pre-conference session on the afternoon of Thursday 8 March in Brisbane, with interested interstate bloggers using Skype to participate in the discussion.? This session would help define the agenda for the conference later in the year.? Please let me know if you be interested in participating in that session.

Peter’s email address is p2.black@qut.edu.au
The conference is going to be either free, or very cheap, which suits my budget!

Senator Andrew Bartlett, writer of The Bartlett Diaries will be speaking - in fact, I found out about the conference from his blog.

I’m very interested in the Citizen Journalism and Creative Commons workshops - but of course they clash with other interesting things, so I may have to wander from room to room. Or not.

Over the next few weeks I’ll also be writing some articles about cheap hotels and backpacker lodges in Brisbane, so if you are coming to town for the conference you’ll know what some of your choices are.

Will you be going to the Australian Blogging Conference? Let me know in the comments.
