Because Brisbane is built on hills, there are some steep slopes right in the middle of town. In particular, it is a very steep climb from Adelaide St to Ann St. This means that the back of St John’s Anglican Cathedral looks down onto Adelaide St from on top of a 5-metre high cliff.
