After work tonight (Wednesday May 9th) I’ll be heading into Rics Bar in the Brunswick St Mall in Fortitude Valley (Click here to see a Google Map) to hear Suckafish P Jones play for free - it’s the launch of the ‘Orinoko Flow’ tour to Melbourne, 1800 km away.

According to the myspace link above, Suckafish P Jones sounds like:

Spit-heavy beautiful nonsense yelping from a blender of scizophrenic sampledelica and slap-dash-boom-bap.

But you can head over to the Suckafish P Jones Myspace page to check for yourself - the track “Teutonic Riddims” and two others are there for you to listen to.

This is the scene at the Showgrounds…About 20 000 people are talking politics and life with their workmates. There are rides for children and a powerful smell of sizzling sausages. The federal Opposition Leader, Mr Kevin Rudd of the Australian Labor Party, spoke briefly and I took a video of that which should be ready tomorrow.

If you are not here, I hope you are having a well-earned Labour Day holiday, and if you are working I hope you are on double time.
