One great thing about Brisbane is that the Brisbane City Council encourages artists to paint the ugly grey Traffic Signal Boxes - so you get some great splashes of colour on the roadside.
Read more to see a bigger version of this picture, and to find out more about the Traffic Signal Boxes in Brisbane.
You can click on these pictures, and you will get taken to the page on flickr where they are stored. You can also see a map showing exactly where this signal box is.
There is also a group on flickr that is devoted just to taking photos of the Traffic Signal Boxes - click here to visit the Brisbane TSB group on flickr - they have over 500 photos there.
And if you want to paint a box yourself, all you need to do is visit this page at Artforce (the Brisbane City Council’s art division) which will tell you all you need to know.
Have you ever painted a TSB yourself, or would you like to? If you’re not in Brisbane, is there anything like this in your part of the world? Write a comment and let me know.
