Brisbane’s Ekka starts thursday. Brisbane central train station has a petting zoo set up to promote the agricultural exhibition. Tickets can be purchased at queensland rail stations and a loop train will be running every 15-20 minutes to drop people at the gates. Brisbane’s Ekka public holiday is wednesday 15 august, but surrounding shires have their holidays on other days next week.
In addition to animals, the Ekka has a range of art, craft, cooking, commercial and various other displays, popular music concerts, rides and the best strawberry ice cream.
