Brisbane Music - Scuurvy play free Pirate Metal TONIGHT at Club Phoenix, Brisbane City
Thanks to the good people at Raw Audio, I’ve just found this YouTube video of Brisbane Pirate Metal band Scuurvy playing their song ‘Send Ye Down to See Olde Hobb’, at the Jubilee Hotel, Fortitude Valley, in April 2006.

Scuurvy will be supporting SpitfireLiar along with Apex Null at Wednesday Night Inferno at Club Phoenix, 235 Edward St, Brisbane City - between Adelaide St and Queen St. Club Phoenix is located between a Virgin Mobile store and an optician called “The Optical Edge”.
This photo was taken from the door of Club Phoenix looking back towards the corner of Edward and Adelaide Sts - you can see that it is not even 100 metres from the corner.

[…] If I’m writing about a particular gig, like Scuurvy’s pirate metal that I mentioned in my very second article, I’ll go to maplandia and create a Google Map with a placemark showing exactly where the venue is. And I went and took photos of the front of the venue, so anyone who wants to go will know EXACTLY where it is. Because ‘235 Edward St’ tells me very little about Club Phoenix. But a map, photos of the front of the venue, and an explanation of what shops it is in between mean that you can head out knowing just where you are going. […]

Hi, I’m so glad to see your using a such a fine example of Brisbane’s local talent(Scuurvy)when giving directions to an excellent venue for presenting the some of the best bands in Brisbane! I saw Scuurvy play at Club Phoenix Jan 24 & they were brilliant!!! I’ve heard whispers that they might be playing at Club Phoenix again March 7. I don’t know for sure yet, but I’m hoping so. I’ll be there for sure, giving em a mighty Yaaaarrrrrrr!!!

Scuurvy’s another great Brisbane band…and they’ve got heaps of stuff on YouTube which really helps when you want to promote them.
